Immunization Schedule

Please see the recommended vaccination schedule for infants, children and adults. We routinely give vaccinations in the office as part of well child care visits and as part of periodic health examinations for adults.

The following table outlines current adult screening recommendations from the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Healthcare.

Conditions

age 21-48y

age 50-64y

age > 65y

preconception

folic acid 0.4-1mg/day

cervical cancer-Pap test

start at age 25y and every three years if results normal

every 3 years if results are normal

every 3 years if results normal. Stop at age 69y

breast cancer

no recommendation to start screening unless family history. available to women >40 y in BC

mammogram every 2 years for low risk women

mammogram every 2 years until age 75

AAA screen (aortic aneurysm)

abdominal ultrasound once age 65-75y

colon cancer

stool FIT every 2 years in low risk patients

stool fit every 2 years until 75 y for low risk patients

cholesterol levels

risk assessment. screen men >40 y
